 By using and purchasing from this website (not the showroom) you are agreeing to these terms and conditions. 

 Your status

 To be eligible to purchase Products on this website you must:

 (a)   Be capable of entering into binding contracts; and

 (b)   Be at least 18 years old.

 (c)   Provide your real name and contact details (including e-mail); and

 (d)   a valid delivery address in the United Kingdom (mainland only)

Warranties: 

Our products are manufactured to the highest quality, the vast majority in the United Kingdom. Sofa King Sofas come with a full one year genuine manufacturers warranty except ex display items. All other products sold on line are warranted against manufacturing defects only, The Sofa King Ltd reserves the right not to apply the warranty in cases of inappropriate use or when the product has been tampered with by a third party or interventions by non-authorized personnel, all sofas have a weight limit which works out to no more than 18 stone per seat and the use of 'raisers' is not recommended and will void the manufactures warranty and clips/joining mechanisms on corner suites are not included in the manufacturers warranty, care must be used when moving corner suites once installed. Sofas need to sit on a flat surface and care must be used when moving them, lift them don't drag to ensure the feet are not damaged as this will void the guarantee.  All items sold are only suitable for domestic use only not commercial use and damage caused by belt buckles, shoes and jewelry or by you moving the sofas causing damage would not be deemed a manufacturers fault. 

Delivery (For Prices click here) and we can hold onto sofas for up to 12 weeks of ordering for those that want to take advantage of an offer but are not ready for delivery yet.

Pallet delivery:- If you choose the pallet delivery your new sofas will arrive on a pallet and be dropped as near as they can outside your front door within 14 days, it will be up to you to get them into your home and you will need 2 physically fit people, the lorry driver is unable to help. Sofas may need the feet screwing on and some sofas will need the backs fitting in place, some sofas have the backs/feet hidden inside a zip under the sofas. If you are not in on the delivery day agreed  to sign for your sofas then you may be charged a re delivery fee of up to £69

Express Pallet delivery:- If you choose the pallet delivery your new sofas will arrive on a pallet and be dropped as near as they can outside your front door within 72 working Hours of ordering not including weekends, so order on a Saturday or Sunday and delivery could be the next Wednesday. it will be up to you to get them into your home and you will need 2 physically fit people, the lorry driver is unable to help. Sofas may need the feet screwing on and some sofas will need the backs fitting in place, some sofas have the backs/feet hidden inside a zip under the sofas. If you are not in on the delivery day agreed  to sign for your sofas then you may be charged a re delivery fee of up to £69

5* delivery set up:-When we deliver your new sofas the driver(s) will help with delivery and set them up, all staff have to carry out a risk assessment prior to entering your home, so clear any hallways and obstructions. We are unable to take away the packaging the new sofas arrive in. If you are not in on the delivery day set then you may be charged a re delivery fee up up to £99 we deliver all sofas within 28 days.

If you need us to take away your old sofas when we deliver your new ones and the packaging from the new sofas then the cost is £65 and is payable in cash directly to the delivery drivers. Like for like only...

Fraud Prevention: Your billing address must match the delivery address unless agreed prior by Sofa King (Contact Form) and we may ask for additional information inc a resent bill that matches the billing and shipping address before items are delivered. Photo Id may also be required on delivery and the card you used to pay unless you paid with PayPal and are verified. This is to help prevent fraud.

We are not liable for damage to your building, lifts, your home, carpets, walls or doors or any breakages. We will deliver up stairs of flats up to 1st floor unless there is a working lift. We are unable to deliver into bedrooms.

Pallet delivery: on delivery you will be asked to sign to say the item(s) are in undamaged conditions. 

On the rare occasion due to unforeseen circumstances we are unable to deliver on the day given, you will be contacted and given a different delivery day. This is rare but can be due to mechanical problems, illness or traffic due to accidents, any alternative delivery days will be within 21 days.

Main land delivery only, we are unable to deliver to Scottish Highlands or any Chanel islands inc the Isle of White and the 2 man delivery service is NOT available to the following areas and postcodes:- Scotland, if you are within the congestion zone in London or the following postcodes:- NE, CA, DH, DL, TS, LA, LL, SA, SY, LD, TA, EX, DT, TQ, PL, TR, CT.

We do our very best to delivery sofas as fast as possible and on the day(s) you request when you get to checkout but cannot guarantee delivery on the day you requested.

*Our British sofa manufacturer that makes the sofas that say 'hand made in England in 14 days' in the listings closes for Staff holidays the same time each year so orders taken from the 8th to the 21st of April and from the 13th of May to the 20th of May will be delayed by 7 days. This does NOT effect the sofas that say 'in stock'

Cancelling your order You can cancel your order at any time up to 72 hours before delivery for a refund minus £14.99 admin fee charge, unless you ordered a bed or mattress or a fabric sofa that is being hand made for you or a sofa that say 'hand made in 14 days, so your new item is made especially for you, on these items if you cancel after you order you can be refunded but it will be minus 30% of the purchase price. If you would like a refund Please e mail ‘markthesofaking@gmail.com’ stating you wish to cancel you order with your order number, name address and contact number and a reason which will help us with future orders. Refunds will be made within 14 days using the original method you paid.

Returning Goods

On delivery and When using our 5* Service If the sofa(s) you ordered are not what you expected then ask the driver(s) to take them back you will be refunded minus a £14.99 admin charge. If you ordered a hand made sofa that is being made exclusively for you so it says hand made in 14 day or bed/mattress then you can send it back but we will deduct 30% from your refund which is standard practice for custom made items and less than most stores deduct but in 18 years only one customer has ever returned a custom made sofa as she chose the wrong colour so please don't worry.

Once the drivers have left your home and within 14 days of delivery and when using  the pallet delivery or the Parcelpost delivery. It is your responsibility to return the items to our Northampton showroom. However we recognize that many customers do not have the means to do this, and so we can arrange collection during normal business hours (Monday To Friday) if requested. In such circumstances a charge of up to £99 will be made for the collection depending on where you live and this amount will be deducted from your refund. Items will need to be returned in the original packaging and be unused. If you ordered a hand made sofa or bed then you then the same applies but 30% will be deducted from your refund. Once inspected you will be refunded within 14 days using the same method you paid. Collections from customers that had delivery via pallet will need to re pallet and wrap the items in the original packaging as they arrived when they were delivered.

Prices changes.

We do our best to make sure prices are correct but mistakes happen we are only human, if a pricing error has uncured you will be notified within 24 hours of ordering and made aware of the mistake and refunded in full. We never intend to mislead our customers.

If a sofa you purchased is reduced in a sale event then we are unable to refund the difference. Sofa Prices are subject to change depending on promotions and delivery timescales and Sizes can be up to 10cm different and colours may vary slightly.

AFTER SALES INFO

On the rare occasion a fault arises with your new sofa or it arrives damaged, then don’t worry your covered with a 12 month manufactures guarantee*, Please note damages sofas need to be reported the day they arrive So if delivery is via  pallet then check them straight away please.

Very important we need 2 photos of the item(s) one from a few feet back so we can see the whole sofa(s) and a 2nd photo a little closer to try and show the fault (If Possible, if not please take one anyway as the manufactures always ask)

Even More Important: The batch number(s) of each faulty item(s) these are located usually on a white label either under the sofa(s) or under the footrests or under the seat cushions if a hand made fabric sofa from our Royal English Collection.

What happens Next

Once we receive this information it is passed onto the manufactures and you will be contacted within 28 working days. The manufacturers may decide to send a technician to your home to have a look and hopefully fix the issue, if the technician deems the fault un-fixable or not a manufactures fault they will complete a report and send it to the manufacturer. The manufacturer will then inform us if they are sending a replacement part and any course of action they deem acceptable. (replacement part’s can take up to 16 weeks to arrive) we will keep you informed as and when the manufactures contact us and once any replacement parts arrive you will be contacted to arrange for the technician to re visit your home to repair the fault. Occasionally we will collect the sofa for repair which can take up to 28 days to return back to you. As responsible retailers we would hope all issues are resolved within 90 days from the original e mail, if you feel the fault is a danger then please do not use the sofas or do what ever you feel necessary to make them safe.
