ABOUT US
The
Sofa King shop, in the centre of
Northampton, has sold 1000's
of end-of-line, ex-catalogue, catalogue return, factory return
and warehouse-damaged sofas and suites for the last few years.
Upon arrival at our warehouse each sofa is unpacked and
checked by our trained staff, who then allocate it a
stock code and a grade from either A or B grade). All the
sofas we sell are in stock so we don't have to wait for
manufacturers to make them to order. Hence you get your sofa
more quickly and, of course, at a lower
price. |
 |
If
you're looking for a brand-name sofa, a 3-piece-suite or
furniture at up to 50% off the original catalogue price
for yourself or a loved one, then you have come to the
right place!

Here's how we do
it!
The
Sofa King has managed to secure these mail order catalogue
returns and clearance bargains from one of the largest
suppliers in the country and from the manufacturers that
supply them. (We're not allowed to mention any names - but you
know who we mean). What is wrong with the sofas? What is the
catch?
Answer - in most cases absolutely nothing!
And there is certainly no catch!
To all intents and
purposes they are nearly all brand spanking new. We can sell
them so cheaply simply because the catalogue companies haven't
the time or the inclination to re-sell them themselves. For an
easy life, the catalogue companies either return them to the
manufacturer, who then sells them on, or they are sold in bulk
from the catalogue companies.
Catalogue customers
return furniture for all sorts of reasons - wrong colour,
wrong size, can't pay for it, wouldn't fit through the door,
arrived too late, changed their mind or it doesn't fit in the
room. Sometimes there is an odd mark or blemish due to transit
or delivery. We sell sofas returned for all these reasons and
we also sell package-damaged stock and end-of-line sofas.

Once
the furniture is in our warehouse, it is checked by
trained staff, given a stock number and a grade (see
below for details)
|
The furniture is
then re-wrapped ready to be sold at a massive discount to you,
the public.
Grading system
explained
A Grade - These
are normally 100% perfect with no marks at all, if they have a
mark on it is normally so small it is hardly noticeable and is
always at the back. They could be cancelled orders, wrong
colour delivered, end of line (that means the catalogue
company no longer have this style in the catalogue, so all the
old stock is bought in bulk and then re-sold it at a massive
discount), or even the wrong style/colour delivered. A Grade
tends to arrive at our warehouse still in the original
wrapper, never having been opened. We of course open them up
to check they are ok and ready to sell at a knock down
price.
A Grades are normally sold at between
30% and 50% less than their original catalogue
price.
B Grade - These
are normally 98% perfect but may have a few small marks on,
normally caused in transit. Please note: the leather or
material on the B grades is NEVER ripped or torn, merely
scuffed or scrapped. Don't be put off by the B grades, the
grading system goes right up to F grade, but we choose to only
sell A and B grades. Remember you can always come and see the
sofa prior to purchasing.
B Grades are normally sold at between 40% and
50% less than the original catalogue price.

of B grade sofa damage, pictures taken from typical examples
recently sold.

So, because of small marks like this you could save
a small fortune.
